Most Singaporeans are Chinese and very fond of being Chinese. They all speak Chinese at home, and even when they think they are speaking English, they are speaking Chinese.
Just look at this forum, even when they think they are typing English, it is actually Chinese grammar and Chinese words coming out.
With China rising, surely Singapore would do well to be a Chinese colony? Many people there are fiercely Chinese and a referendum should be held soon.

Ms Ho Ching is always seen in Chinese dresses telling the world how proud she is to be Chinese. She would be proud of that day. And her father Kuan Yew, and niece have always talked about the evils of Westernisation and how Chinese people should have Chinese names and speak Chinese at home.

They are speaking Singlish, neither English, nor Chinese. Kena Tekan is Singlish, it has no Cheena in it.
All Sgns speak Chinese at home???China is Westernising too (or I'd rather call it Modernising?). Sgns favorite game is soccer, not ping pong.

新加坡人说的是Singlish，不是英语也不是中文。Kena Tekan（注：新加坡英语，打压欺负的意思)就是Singlish，不含支那语。

Singlish is badly pronounce English words + Mandarin+ Chinese dialect + Malay + some made up words... add up together.

You are wrong, Singaporeans are best at ping pong not soccer. the singaporean soccer team looks like little boys that are trying to play against adults. they can't even qualify for the world cup. the singapore ping pong team won olympic medals!
Singlish is basically chinese people speaking english badly. it is a nonsensical form of english with chinese grammar and intonation...it is what happens when an uneducated chinese person is forced to write english word-by-word using a chinese-english dictionary.
don't kid yourself telling others that you are good at soccer or you speak broken english so you are not chinese.
singaporeans are 100% chinese and unity with the motherland is what must be achieved...don't be an ang moh gao, have some pride in your culture and asian values.

There are good speakers of the English language in Singapore, take a look at the English station newscasters. And who said Englishman means can play soccer? They suck!
My culture? We used to fire crackers every Chinese New Year, our race invented gunpowder. When was the last time you fired one? Most Chinese Sgns during CNY play poker or gin-rummey (how Chinese is that?)
Sgns may be majority of Chinese origin. But generations and influence have separated Sgn Chinese from Ah Tiongs. There is a cultural divide now between the two yellow-skinned peoples. You blokes are closer to your mud bros up north and down south (eat sambal belachan right?) than the slit-eyed buck toothed heathens from the Celestial Empire.

我们的文化？我们曾经在每次过中国春节的时候放鞭炮，我们这个种族发明了火药。但是你上次点鞭炮是什么时候的事了？大部分华裔新加坡人春节的时候玩扑克和gin-rummey（这个中文怎么说？）（注：gin-rummey是扑克的一种玩法）


新加坡人也许主要源自中国人，但是经过数代和各种因素影响已经把新加坡人和阿中（注：Ah Tiongs阿中，指中国人，有贬义）分离开了。文化已经将两种黄皮肤的人分离。（注：后面Singlish，不懂）

most of them speak fluent mandarin with native intonations. accents aside, there are huge variations in accents in china (which includes singapore), the chinese locals in singapore province use grammatically perfect chinese, as it is their native tongue, unlike their english which is a foreign language.
singapore is best suited to join fujian or maybe guangzhou...many of the chinese there speak heavily accented mandarin but command perfect grammar and speak a chinese dialect well...just like the comrades from singapore. same food, same culture, same habits.
it will be a joyous day for everyone in singapore.
他们大部分都能说流利的普通话，虽然带点当地口音。中国包括新加坡各地口音都有很大的差异。居住在新加坡省的中国人使用语法准确的中文作为他们的母语，不像英文是一种外来语言。
新加坡人最适合加入福建或者广州...那里很多中国人讲带有口音的普通话，但是语法很准确并且也使用方言...正如来自新加坡的同胞。同样的饮食、同样的文化、同样的习惯。
那将成为每位在新加坡的人欢乐的日子。


No surprise if one day China claim Sickapoor to be part of China, since they can do it to Philippines..

distance is nothing...absence makes the heart grow fonder. the chinese in m'sia and singapore have been seperated by the ang mohs from their motherland for centuries but they still have chinese names, are buddhists, speak chinese languages, and are steeped in chinese culture.

Why are Singaporeans not joining China yet? That would be a great day in Singapore history! Because Singapore is more than just Chinese? If I were a Sinkie Malay or a Sinkie Indian, I would be bloody pissed off. It's not the first time I see Sinkie Chinese conflating Chinese with Sinkies as though the other ethnic groups are immaterial.

其实只是华人之间的议论，在此可以看出当中国综合国力强大之时便会有一帮远方亲戚主动示好。实际上华人是新加坡的主要民族，但是加入中国仅仅是小部分华人私底下的议论（强烈怀疑有五毛渗透），两国官方不会在此问题上有所表态的。当一个国家想要收回其他的失地时只有通过国家实力来达到。比如台湾问题，只有中国达到美国做出反应前迅速同统一中国的能力时，才能免去不必要的损失。另一点便是软实力的方面，让台湾民众主动靠近（通常是经济利益），可以说假如中国继续沿着现有道路前进的话，收复华人占主导地位的土地能够在50年内实现[/size]

这帖子的用心很险恶，殖民思想在当今社会早已过时，这篇帖子只会激起新加坡人对中国的反感。既然都是华人，同族同根，哪有什么殖民的观点可谈，但新加坡回归于中国也是无可厚非，同为炎黄子孙，和则力强，共同实现中华民族复兴是每个人的梦想。与西方联系过密，始终都是人家利用的对象，族缘关系决定了文化差异，华人文化在西方人眼中始终都是异类。

新加坡人只是投机而已，美国强大就抱美国大腿，想当然认为他们会跟大陆亲近只会热脸贴冷屁股

新加坡就是华人多，和殖民地没有关系，而且新加坡没有什么实力，中国没必要和他多说话，只不过想2面逢源得到好处罢了。

新加坡是东南亚中对中国最敌视的，很多时候它在背后配合美国的要求玩阴的，常常诋毁中国的形象和人权，要知道新加坡人并不喜欢中国人，在新加坡以前是禁止说汉语的，那是犯罪的，而这就是在所谓的华裔总理李光耀当政是发生的，还有很多其他阴损招，就不一一细说了。现在新加坡愿意和中国亲近，只不过是中国强大了而已！

曾经的东南亚都是由中国人来主导的，可惜啊世事变迁，现在连很多小事情都受制于这些小国家，可见中国的强盛之路还很遥远

这样的言论显然是脑残人士YY之语，新加坡华人对大陆多无好感，新加坡政府长期摇摆于两岸间，与大陆政府关系一般，外交政策上亲欧美而略有排华，华人血缘纽带作为坊间谈资尚可，谈及政治未免浅陋。

别看新加坡现在跳得欢，就怕到时候拉清单！

中国强大到跟新加坡比就像美国跟朝鲜比一样，新加坡人自己就像转成中国国籍了，总而言之，还是国力和国际形象提升起来比较重要

想法是好的，但是现实是残酷的，没有过硬的资本，一切都是虚幻。还是先把自己国家的国力提升到和美国一个层次再来考虑这些好了。

不要老说别人如何如何，大陆要自己反思一下，为何别的国家对中国都有“敌意”？

什么叫殖民，本身就是汉族占多数，何来殖民之说？？
要是按照他们自己的理论，那么美国，澳大利亚，加拿大都算英国殖民地？？

新加坡作为中国一部分，是少部分人的yy而已，新加坡的主流意识还是亲西方，对新加坡而言，一个混乱的东南亚更能让新加坡生存，获得更好的生活条件。
至于保留华夏文化，只是一个传统而已，不是什么对中国的政治表态，仅此而已。
新加坡是美国在东南亚的铁杆支持者，是捍卫美国利益的先锋，对他不要有什么政治上的天真
